Builder is beating the credit crunch

A BUILDING company has secured a contract to build new tutor accomodation at a boarding house.
Bowman has secured a £175,000 contract with the trustees of Uppingham School for the construction of the accomodation at West Deyne Boarding House. Work started in July and will take about 16 weeks to complete.
The company, which is based in Peterborough and is sister company to Bowman's in Stamford, is celebrating after securing £850,000 worth of contracts since the end of June. Seven separate contracts were awarded to Bowman after it had tendered against firms from across the country. The contracts range up to £250,000.
Company spokesman Trevor Jackson said: "Many people are talking about the downturn and yet we've just had our best ever summer of orders.
"The orders are a healthy blend of public and private sector work and we are delighted that the quality of our work and the hard work of our people is being recognised and rewarded."
