The Mercury Business Awards are back for 2009.
We've teamed up with our sponsors once again to find the best business minds in the Stamford, Deepings, Rutland and Bourne area.
The awards dinner for the 2008 attracted nearly 200 people and the cream of the crop of business talent was there.
Mercury editor Eileen Green said: "This will be our fourth business awards and every year we are delighted to shine a light on the hard work and effort that goes in to making firms in our circulation area a success.
"The current economic climate means it is more important than ever that businesses promote themselves and the Mercury business awards are an ideal showcase.
"All the finalists are featured in the paper and the awards dinner is a great place to network and meet potential contacts that could take your company to the next level.
"In recent years the awards have created a real buzz in the business world and we are confident they will do so again."
This year we've added a new category – Apprentice of the Year thanks to sponsors New College Stamford. This award will showcase how investing in young people can reap dividends for some companies.
The categories are:
The Green Award sponsored by South Kesteven District Council
Business Personality – sponsored by Duncan & Toplis
Best New Start-up – sponsored by Hegarty LLP Solicitors
Employee or Team of the Year – sponsored by Vic Couzens
Customer Service – sponsored by Stamford Town Partnership
Apprentice of the year – sponsored by New College Stamford
Business of the Year – sponsored by Anne Corder Recruitment and Greetham Valley Hotel, Golf and Conference Centre
The awards dinner will again be at Greetham Valley.
