A HERB company is celebrating 10 years of business.

Swedeponic UK, which is based in Spalding Road, Bourne, supplies more than 65 per cent of all the potted herbs sold in the country. It supplies Asda, Morrisons, the Co-op, Somerfield and Budgens.
The company celebrated its 10th anniversary with cake and non-alcoholic champagne for the staff and a presentation to four employees who have been with the business since day one. Tina Brotherton, Sheila Harris, Jess Brooks and Helen Glover were given travellers' cheques to mark their time with the company.
Swedeponic Group chief executive Matts Matsson says the success of the business is down to "a constant focus on quality and efficiency and a drive to deliver value to the customer".
The firm has doubled the number of employees from 20 to 40 and now produces 300,000 pots a week, up from 50,000 pots when the company launched in 1998.
The company, which is the UK nursery of the Swedish based firm, has plans to expand in 2009.
