CONTROL room staff at Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue have been shortlisted for the national council worker of the year awards thanks to their dedication to duty during last summer's floods.

The team has been shortlisted in the flood response category. During one 24-hour period of the floods, the team answered more than 1,495 calls. Some staff members reported for duty during their days off and annual leave to ensure fire and rescue crews will on hand to rescue members of the public from potentially life threatening situations.
The awards are organised by the Local Government Assoc-iation. To support the team go to www.thelocalgovernment
channel.com/awards or text to 80039 quoting LGATV followed by Category 7 and Lincolnshire.
