PEOPLE who offer bed and breakfast accommodation are being encouraged to sign up for a free one-day course to improve their business.
Organised by Discover Rutland, the course on Wednesday, August 6, aims to provide information to0 bed and breakfast owners who want to learn more about Visit Britain's quality assurance scheme and how it can benefit their business.
County council ca
binet member responsible for tourism, Coun Peter Jones (Con), said: "This is a really good opportunity for bed and breakfast owners in Rutland to find out more about becoming quality assured.
"Many people look out for an accommodation quality rating before making a booking and it could make the difference between them reserving a room or looking elsewhere."
During the day an assessor will take the group around a quality assured bed and breakfast in Cottesmore, conducting a mock assessment, to help explain what an assessor is looking for.
Tourism officer Emma Rooke said: "If you are new to providing bed and breakfast, having your accommodation quality assessed might sound daunting at first.
"We hope that by offering free places on this information day, it will encourage people to come and find out more."
For more about the information contact Emma Rooke on 01572 722577 or email tourism@rutland.gov.uk.
