HAIRDRESSER Simon Cawthorne has won through to the last six in the finals of the Eastern Region British Hairdressing Awards.
Simon, 40, is a partner in Cawthorne and Wright, of Mill Street, Oakham, and Stoneygate, Leicester.
Entry in the competition is through a photographic collection of four looks, which Simon had shot in London, working with a team of photographers, clothes stylists and make up artists at Bed Head Studios, Battersea.
Now he has to style a further four models to complete his collection which must be presented to the judges in September.
"I am so chuffed," said Simon, who lives in Market Harborough. "This has already been a great experience. It has pushed me creatively and I have learned a lot from the experience. Working on photographic shoots really hones your technical skills and all this is truly valid for what we do in the salon too.
"It makes you very aware of fashion trends and ways to dress hair. I can't wait to go down to London and create the second half of the collection," he said.
The results will be announced at the British Hairdressing Awards ceremony in London in November.
