Money is a big worry says N&P

MONEY is a bigger worry now than a year ago, according to a survey by Norwich and Peterborough Building Society.
The results showed that 57 per cent of people said they thought more often now about money matters than they did last year as the credit crunch started to bite.
But one in five respondents would prefer to seek money advice from their parents or a family member than from a financial adviser, the survey showed.
While 79 per cent of respondents said they would go to a doctor or health professional for advice on a health issue and 74 per cent said they would consult a mechanic over a problem with their car, only 59 per cent said they would see a financial adviser for advice on money matters.
"Many people still seem to associate financial advisers with investments, but we can offer help and advice on a much wider range of areas," said Julian Fryer, the independent financial planner at the Norwich & Peterborough's Stamford branch.
The society is running a Beat the Crunch campaign at its branches.
