Rippingale post office faces the axe as part of a nationwide cull of branches.
And three other branches in the area at Folkingham, Castle Bytham and South Witham are also facing the axe.

In Stamford, post office customers are preparing for battle after the Ryhall Road branch was listed for closure.

Should post offices be closed to save money or should they be kept open? Post your comments below...

It may be costing money to keep some post offices open but this does not mean that they should be closed. They still provide an important service for small communities.

I understand the reasoning behind the closures but they do not seem to have taken into account the needs of their customers. Being disabled and having to use a wheelchair it is hard enough to get into the only two post offices left in Stamford. If one of them is closed how will the main Post Office cope with the added disabled customers? Are they going to apply to the council to erect a ramp outside or have a person working full time in the Royal Mail office at the side, where currently, disabled customers are abliged to go. I suspect that no one in authority in the Post Office has even given this a second thought. Keep them ALL open.
