Consultation results are set to be revealed
The results of a 13 week consultation on proposed changes to ambulance services will be revealed this week at a meeting.
East Midlands Ambulance Service, known as Emas, opened consultations on its plans to close its 66 ambulance stations, including those in Ryhall Road, Stamford, South Road, Bourne and Station Road, Oakham, and replace them with 118 community posts and standby points, in September.
Public meetings with representatives from Emas were held in Stamford, Bourne and Rutland before the consultation closed on December 17.
On Thursday Emas Trust Board will hold a meeting to review the report which will detail the feedback received during the consultation.
The report will also be made publicly available.
No decisions will be made at this meeting, it is purely an opportunity for the board to review and take note of the responses received.
On January 28, the final plans will be reviewed and discussed at the Trust Board meeting who will make a decision on the proposals.
As part of the consultation Emas representatives held meetings in Stamford on October 31 and November 27.
At the first meeting more than 70 attended, many were not happy with the proposals. Town and county councillors and members of the public spoke out against the plans.
About 90 people attended a meeting at the Bourne Corn Exchange, on November 26 and in Rutland a meeting was held at the Anglian Watch Bird Watching Centre in Egleton on October 9.
