A WIDE range of weird and wonderful vehicles are being showcased this Sunday as Stamford Car Show celebrates its fifth anniversary.
The free charity event, supported by lead sponsors Marshalls and Rockingham Mazda & Fiat, takes place at The Meadows. Organisers Stamford & District Round Table are promising the largest show yet with more than 400 cars on view.

Models made by Riley, Austin and Morris will be displayed, with numerous examples of pristine classic cars, some pre-war gems, modern sports vehicles and modified motors.

The oldest car attending will be a 1914 Studebaker while the furthest travelled, a Porsche 911 RS, is expected to wheel in from London. Other cars to look out for include a Wolseley 6/80 Police Car and a Ferrari 328.

Organiser Steve Marsh said: "We have been inundated with entries and many drivers are returning because of the reputation the show has achieved for being friendly and welcoming.

"The scenic Meadows backdrop adds wonderfully to the atmosphere so you can expect the field to be filled to capacity on Sunday."
Motorbike fans are catered for as well, with a number of two-wheeled vehicles expected to be on display.

The sound of historic aircraft will also be heard overhead as the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight makes an appearance for the show's birthday. The formation flypast salute by a Spitfire, Hurricane and Dakota transport aircraft is expected to take place during the afternoon.

The show, which is supported by Stamford Town Council, will run from 9am to 4.30pm. Go to www.stamfordcarshow.co.uk.
