Summer fantasy continues at festival

PETERBOROUGH Festival has a second weekend of top events with the focus moving from Central Park to The Embankment.
This year's theme is Summer Fantasy.

On Friday July 4th there will be a programme of outdoor performances culminating in Hydromania – a water finale featuring fountains and pryotechnics together with live music and comedy. Admission is free.

he festival finale on Saturday July 5th night includes an open-air screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at 9pm, following live music and dancing. Rocky Horror fans can meet Magenta (Patricia Quinn) at the Key Theatre from 7.15pm – tickets £5.

Performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream are in Central Park with Mask Theatre Friday July 4th & Sat 5th at 7.30pm and Sheridan's The Rivals is at the John Clare Theatre Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm.

The Space4 Short Film Festival ends at the Key Theatre Friday 4th July with a film trip around the world.

Peterborough is also taking part in Big Dance Goes East and the Hofesh Shechter Company will dance Uprising in Cathedral Square Saturday July 5th from 11am. A trade fair, with dance taster workshops, will follow at the Key Theatre.

The city also hosts Simon Montefiore talking about Russian history and his book Sashenka at the John Clare Theatre on Wednesday July 9th at 1pm. Tickets £3 (£2) – 01733 864277.
