World's best musicians heading this way
VIOLA player Paul Silverthorne and pianist David Owen Norris will be at St Andrew's Church for the second in the series of Music In Lyddington concerts next Saturday, May 17, at 7.30pm.
Paul is principal viola in the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta and appears with major orchestras around the world. Many leading composers have written for him. He is a professor at the Royal Academy of Music and plays an instrument made by the Brothers Amati in 1620.
David Owen Norris is another eminent musician who has played for several of the world's leading orchestras.
He has been accompanist for Dame Janet Baker and Jean-Pierre Rampal and is a musical professor at Southampton University and a visiting professor at the Royal College of Music.
They will play Beethoven's Grand Duo (septet) arr. Hermann, Schumann's Marchenbilder, Romance by Benjamin Dale and movements from Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet.
