Bus passes: We are still waiting

I was interested to read the story, Wait goes on for bus pass, (Mercury last week), where South Kesteven claims to have posted all 13,000 passes, while having to issue 400 temporary passes.
Better make that 402, since my wife and I were issued with our temporary passes only this morning after several phone calls and one unanswered e-mail to the council.

In fact we were told by phone and at the Market Deeping office today (Tuesday) th
at we wouldn't receive our passes until mid May. This seems to tie in with other people here.

We know of only one person in the immediate vicinity who has received her pass. Her husband, who is older, is still waiting.

When we rang the council at Grantham yesterday we were told that the poor devils who are having to unravel this mess were under so much pressure we should leave our name and number and expect a call back in 24 hours.

What's the council's motto? Oh, yes – Listening, Learning, Delivering!

If the council is telling the truth that all 13,000 passes have been posted, one can only assume they have been posted to Ulan Bator, perhaps, where the people of Mongolia are hopefully having a high old time hopping on and off the local transport free, while we in South Kesteven continue to wait for the service we were promised.
