WE set off for a much awaited concert at Elton Hall to see Girls Aloud.
The parking was a nightmare and it took us the best part of an hour to park and get into the arena. We had no idea this was to be a trial for our exit later on.
We had our picnic. The programme started over half an hour late, the first act? Couldn
't hear them! Sang half songs! Sound problems! Unless you were at the front you could not hear, the sound and the screen were not adequate.
When Girls Aloud did come on they had sound issues. The children, all nine, and massive Girls Aloud fans were disappointed, the set seemed really short.
When it ended we found only one exit from the arena and one exit from the car park.
There were no stewards anywhere to be seen in the arena, no guide at the end on how to exit, no sorry about this.
People stuck in their cars, no cars moved for at least two hours, there were hundreds of cars all descending on one exit, angry people, people who needed the toilet, a wholly inadequate plan to exit people.
I had to ask my children to look away as men urinated alongside the car, other adults became intimate.
I think the concert ended at 10.30-11pm. I did not get out until gone 1.30am, it may have been later and there were hundreds of cars behind me.
What was the exit strategy? What if an ambulance was needed?
I am a local person and was delighted to see such an event happen for our area, I am horrified at the outcome, it is such a shame, Girls Aloud have three children who are really very disappointed in their experience.
