It's that time of year again! Stamford Family Fun Day and It's A Knockout takes place on Sunday, August 3 at Burghley Park.
We have done everything we can to provide families with an affordable day out. Free transport for local families, free entrance and parking and lots of free entertainment for all ages.
Our It's A Knockout programme, all day sport, Little Tikes pla
y area, African drumming workshops, magic show, professional story teller, Jem's Hip Hop, The Jelly Belly dancers, Arts Direct and a local celebrity band form part of our free activity programme for children under 16.
We also offer great shopping, a huge car boot sale, Ted Tailor fun fair, a Little Tikes auction, an It's a Knockout programme for 16+ (a great opportunity for Mum and Dad!) delicious eats, hog roast barbecue, great coffee and ice-cream.
Hereward Radio will be entertaining us with music and a DJ though out the day!
This year we have organised free transport of which families do not need to book. Vehicles will leave Bluecoat School (by the school gates) at 9.30am and St George's School (again by the school gates) at 9.45am.
Return trips to the two schools will be at 5.15pm – meet at the entrance to Burghley opposite Water Street in the car parking area.
Of course, this event takes a lot or organising and we are reliant on all kinds of local support.
We would love to hear from anyone aged 16+ who would like to volunteer for the day. Volunteering is very rewarding and great for the CV.
We promise to give all our volunteers a great day. We work as a team and have lots of fun. Stewarding, general site construction, leaflet distribution, fundraising, auction and raffle desk and general event assistance forms part of our volunteer placement.
We are very grateful to Burghley for yet again providing us with such a beautiful setting and respectfully ask all visitors not to drop litter in the park. Thanks also go to our sponsors, especially Cummins Generator Technologies, Little Tikes and Stamford Town Council, for helping us to make a positive difference in our community.
We will be promoting the day in Broad Street, Stamford today should anyone like to meet the events team.
