I'm simply amazed
I WRITE to express astonishment that senior police officers are to receive a bonus for doing their job.
No doubt many people believed that all police officers, particularly those of senior rank, would sign up to do a job, and undertake to give it their all, if only to set an example to the force.
But apparently this is not so. What have they been doing before the introduction of a bonus scheme – running at half-power?
What has happened to pride of achievement? The reward for outstanding performance use to be a medal!
