ON behalf of the Stamford Fair Society, may I take the opportunity to thank everyone that helped and contributed to the successful day of our annual Fairground Model Show last Saturday.
Our thanks also go to Doncaster showmen Roger Tuby and Son for again kindly sponsoring the event held in the United Reformed Church Hall.

Together with Stamford showman Ian Taylor for providing us with the large banner displayed across the entrance to the show.

Many others visited and took great interest in the work of the society, in helping to promote awareness and preservation of the history of our ancient street fair.

It is our intention to distribute surplus funds raised on the day and from our activities, to local charities and the Cystic Fibrosis Research Trust.

The society is always seeking the loan of any old photographs of Stamford Mid Lent Fair from the past to use in future publications, in particular those taken from and prior to the 1970s.
