I am very happy to play my part in trying to live a greener lifestyle.
I take recyclable bags shopping with me, I compost, do enough recycling to fill my gray wheelie bin at least twice a fortnight, try hard not to buy prepacked food, try and buy locally, collect rainwater, walk everywhere and regularly use the Freecyc
le website.
However, it seems this is not enough. BT charges me £4.50 per quarter because I won't set up a direct debit with it and my mobile phone provider has asked that I start receiving my bills online or incur a £1 per month per account fee.
All very well, but we have four accounts in our household. I have agreed to this and they have today sent me two e-mails saying I can view two of my bills online.
Having logged on to my account and tried the View Bills Online option, I find a blank page.
After a lengthy call to them, it would appear that because I use an Apple Mac, I can't receive bills online, so they will continue to send me paper bills at £1 a time!
I'm hoping they will review this.
Somebody, somewhere, is making money playing the environmental card – it certainly isn't me!
