What a pleasing sight it is to see a pub reopening in Stamford.
The Daniel Lambert in St Leonard's Street closed some months ago and looked decidedly forlorn.

Now it is back in business, the window boxes in bloom and with scaffolding up looks set for a full refit.

We are told that 25 pubs have been closing each week in England as part of this Government's dedicated programme to destroy the traditional British way of life and of late publicans have borne the brunt of much of this.

Good luck to the Daniel Lambert! Keep your spirits up.

PETER SPIEGL,
Gwash Way,
Ryhall Road,
Stamford
