Where: Belvoir, Leicestershire, NG32 1PE.
What: Ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland for 1,000 years, currently the family home of 11th Duke and Duchess and their five children. Includes the museum of the Queen's Royal Lancers. The terraced gardens feature sculptures. Regular re-enactments in historical costume are also held.
How much: Adults 12; children 6 (aged five to 16); students and seniors 10; family (2/3) 32.
When: Open Sundays to Thursday 11am to 5pm, Saturdays 11am to 4pm. Saturdays and Sundays only in September. Check opening days in October.
