It's Deeping Carnival

DEEPING Carnival kicks off on Saturday 4th July and promises to be a full day of fun for all the family.

The popular event starts at 10am at the John Eve Park in Godsey Lane, Market Deeping, and runs until 5pm. It is free admission.

In the main arena there will be gymnastic displays, dance displays, clowns and of course the American Civil War society will be carrying out drill practice during the morning and they will be battling it out during the afternoon with horses and two artillery batteries of cannon.

With more than 250 American soldiers camping on the field for the weekend there will be plenty to see and do for all the family and with a funfair and lots of stalls it promises to be a great day out and all for free.

Timetable: 10.30am American civil war drill display; 11.15am Gymnastics display by Simms Gymnastics; 11.45am Dave the clown; 12.30pm Tang Soo Do demonstration; 1pm Line Dancing demonstration; 1.30pm Deeping Karate club demonstration; 2pm Procession arrives into the arena and prizes are awarded.

This will include an award for the best stand and best in show. 2.30pm Ministry of Dance display; 3pm Dave the clown; 3.30pm American civil war re-enactment battle.

There is also a Dakota flypast during the afternoon and a beer tent, pony rides, snack bar, hypnotherapy stall, tombolas, win a Mini, Lincolnshire wildlife trust, RSPCA, fun bus, toys and sweets, hair and beauty advice and goodies and of course the new Deeping Carnival queen will make her debut.
