National Ice Centre, Nottingham

Where: Bolero Square, The Lace Market, Nottingham, NG1 1LA

What: Opened in 2000 by Jayne Torvill the 43m centre was the first olympic twin sized ice rink facility in the UK. The centre provides top class facilities and a range of ice sports including syncronised skating and sport track speed skating. Nottingham Panthers hockey team use the venue for home games.

When: Open seven days a week 10am to 10.30pm for public skating.

How much: 5.50 + 2 skate hire peak time skating Fridays and all day Saturdays and Sundays and Nottingham school holidays 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Off peak 4.50 + 2 skate hire. Under fives 2.50 free skate hire. Seniors 3.50 free skate hire; NUS and City card holders 4.50 free skate hire; family passes (maximum 4) 24 including skate hire.
