Experts were on hand to give car seat safety advice to parents and their children in Oakham on Tuesday.

A child car seat clinic was held by Leicestershire and Rutland Road Safety Partnership at Tesco in South Street.

Members of the partnership spoke to dozens of people about the dangers to young children of having an incorrectly fitted or inappropriate child car seat.

Experts also fitted 10 children with safe seats, measuring them for the correct size and fitting. The event was held as part of the Good Egg In-Car child safety campaign.

Jonathan Clarkson, of Leicestershire and Rutland Road Safety Partnership, said: “It was good to see people coming over to get advice from experts and give them guidance on a range of safety issues.”
