THE first of this year’s popular Osprey Family Fun Days will be taking place on Tuesday at the Lyndon Visitor Centre at Rutland Water.
Throughout the day there will be Osprey games; Osprey badge and mask making; the opportunity to catch fish, use genuine radio tracking equipment to help find lost osprey hidden somewhere on the reserve and the chance for each family to build their own bird table or nest box so they can carry on looking for birds from their own home.
With the help of an interactive drama workshop, children can experience the excitement and danger of being a migrating Osprey
and to round off the day, families can walk down to Waderscrape Hide to see the resident breeding pair.
The Fun Day is on from 10am until 3.30pm.
Admission is £10 per family, which includes a reserve permit (Lyndon only) and a nest box or bird table to take home.
The Lyndon Reserve is on the South Shore of Rutland Water between Edith Weston and Manton. For more details contact 01572 737378 and ask for a member of the Osprey team.
