FOUR lurcher puppies are looking for a new home.
The RSPCA has been looking after the puppies, two male and two female, since they were born in care in August. Their mother was mistreated.
The puppies, named Arkady, Aragog, Daphne and Velma, were part of a litter of eight.
Four have been rehomed, but the remaining four need to be found good homes before Christmas when the branch takes a break from rehoming.
It does not hand over animals to new homes in December in case the pets are then given to someone else as a Christmas present.
Iona McLachlan, administrator for the RSPCA's Lincolnshire East branch, which covers Stamford, Bourne and surrounding areas, said: "These puppies need new homes so they don't have to spend all of the festive period in kennels.
"If they are adopted now it would give them plenty of time to settle in before the festivities begin.
"Ideally, we'd like someone who knows something of the breed to rehome them so they get the best possible care."
At the kennels, there is also a 17-month-old male German shepherd cross called Scooby, who is looking for a home with older children and eight-year-old brown and white male Staffordshire bull terrier Patch, who gets on well with female dogs.
