A FORMER Oakham woman allegedly caught having sex on a beach in Dubai has been charged with "the most serious offences open to the authorities", according to reports.
According to nationla newspapers Michelle Palmer, 36, and Vince Acors, 34, of Bromley, Kent, have been charged with indecent behaviour, having unmarried sex and having consumed alcohol. The offences could carry a maximum sentence of six years in prison if found guilty

Miss Palmer, a publishing executive who used to work in Stamford, and Mr Acors are unable to leave Dubai as part of their bail conditions.

The pair were arrested after a police officer apparently saw them in a compromising position on Jumeirah Beach.

They have reportedly publicly apologised to the officers involved in the hope of escaping with a caution.

A Foreign Office spokesman said it had not been informed of the charges.
