THIEVES broke into a car near Rutland Water despite a small dog being in a vehicle at the time.
A Northampton woman was with her two-year-old daughter ivisiting her mother-in-law in Stamford .

All three travelled to Rutland Water on Wednesday afternoon last week, accompanied by the Stamford woman’s Papillion dog named Pepi.

After walking the dog they put the animal in the car at the Sykes Lane car park in Empingham and then took the little girl to the swings.

When they returned a short while later, someone had broken into the vehicle and stolen the child seat and a spare in the boot.
