STAMFORD'S much-talked about Eleanor Cross monument will be unveiled next week, if insurance contracts can be completed in time.
Artist Wolfgang Buttress has earmarked Tuesday as the day to show off the statue, which he plans to cover in wrapping beforehand.

Students from Queen Eleanor Technology College in Stamford, who have written poems for the monument, are also expected to be present for the occasion.

The final hurdle to be crossed is ensuring all insurance papers are signed, with talks ongoing between the artist and Lincolnshire County Council.

"It's just a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's," added Mr Buttress.
