A SPRING fair helped raise more than £6,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The fair, held on Thursday last week, and a preview event on Wednesday evening, were held at The Granary, at Manor Farm, in Bainton.
About 150 people attended the sold-out preview night. There were a selection of mixed stalls and an auction which saw items such as hot air balloon rides and a portrait by Don Lambert go under the hammer.
The spring fair itselfattracted more than 350 visitors on the day. There were more than 30 stalls offering a variety of attractions such as clothing, plants, gift items and local produce.
Afternoon activites included a cookery demonstration from Tuk Tuk foods, which specialises in Thai and oriental cooking, and wine tasting from Adnams in Stamford.
Committee member Nicola Clough said: "We are so thrilled that so many people supported it. It was a fantastic and enjoyable day with a relaxed atmosphere.
"We want to thank everyone who donated prizes, and to all who contributed on the day."
