A 13-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital following a house fire in Essendine.
Fire crews were called to Station Road at 1.25pm after receiving reports of a fire in the living room of the house.

The house is close to the railway track and the Glen Industrial Estate.

A girl was taken by air ambulance to Leicester Royal Infirmary. A fire service spokesman said the girl was not in the house when they arrived.

Police are also at the scene.
