THE man found dead in a flat last week has been named by police.
He was Michael Slater, 43. His body was found after police were called to a flat in Mill Street, Oakham, close to the junction with High Street on Thursday last week.

They had received reports from the public that there was a strong smell of gas coming from a building in Mill Street.

Police closed the street to traffic and once inside the flat above a shop they discovered the body of a man.

An inquest into Mr Slater's death was opened by the coroner on Monday this week.

The death is not being treated by police as suspicious.
