TRAIN services between Stamford and Oakham were held up this afternoon after a lorry struck a bridge at Ketton.
The lorry got stuck under a bridge on the A6121 at about 2.15pm. Police were called out to the incident and Network Rail operators undertook rigid checks on the bridge, which is also used by trains travelling between Peterborough and Leicester.

Network Rail spokesman Rachel Blackman said: "It's standard procedure to make sure the structures used by trains are completely safe. Fortunately in this case there was no damage to the bridge and the line was cleared at 3.05pm."
