A STAMFORD parliamentary candidate has launched a petition calling for an immediate general election.
Nick Boles, Conservative candidate for Grantham and Stamford, says he wants to give people the chance to elect a new MP and his call follows recent Glasgow and Crewe elections which went against the Government.

The petition reads: "We, the people of Grantham and Stamford, did not elect a Labour MP and believe we have the right to choose an MP who reflects our views.

"We therefore demand that you call a general election at the earliest opportunity so that we can vote for the change this constituency, and our country, need."

The launch of the petition will take place at Grantham Market tomorrow.
