THE mother of a boy with a behavioural disorder is asking to be moved out of her flat after complaints about her son's toys blocking a communal area.
Vikki Gregory says her nine-year-old son Kieran Reeve needs the trampoline and paddling pool to let off steam as he has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, commonly known as ADHD.

Kieran suffers from concentration and anger issues due to the condition and prefers to play at home with his mum.

But Miss Gregory, 27, is angry that she has been told to put away the 8ft trampoline and paddling pool by landlord South Kesteven District Council, after receiving complaints of the communal area being blocked at the Elizabeth Road flats in Stamford.

The district council says it sympathises with Miss Gregory but has a duty of care to all tenants.

Now Miss Gregory has reiterated her request for a council house.

She said: "I have moved the paddling pool and emptied it. I don't think I should have to be moving the trampoline every day for him to go out on it. It's heavy to move.

"It is the only area he has to let off steam."

Kieran's father John was killed in a car accident when Miss Gregory was 16 weeks pregnant and she says she has been on the waiting list for a house for about nine years.

Miss Gregory understands this is a communal area but says no-one has spoken to her about the trampoline in the three years it has been out there.

The council's area housing officer visited the site after receiving two complaints about the communal area being blocked.

Senior housing officer Rachel Clark said Miss Gregory was asked to remove the paddling pool and trampoline on health and safety grounds.

Mrs Clark, who supports the officer's request, said: "I do however have much sympathy for Miss Gregory who does not have a garden at her property to keep such play equipment for her child to enjoy."

Mrs Clark says Miss Gregory has already completed a transfer form but suggested that she join the council's HomeSwapper Scheme.

She added: "The area housing officer who has been dealing with this case has already made some inquires along the lines of a mutual exchange and will be in contact with Miss Gregory shortly."
