FIREFIGHTERS at three stations will now be tackling the flames with new fire engines.
Stamford, Bourne and Billingborough retained stations each have a new MAN pump as part of a £60m investment by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue.
The service has replaced various makes and models with 33 new engines and 23 refurbished Volvos.
Stamford station has also received a new Vauxhall Astra as a co-responder car which will support the ambulance service by attending suspected heart attack calls. It carries a defibrillator.
These new engines are already in operation but were officially unveiled on Thursday at Bourne Fire Station.
Station master Andy Ford said: "Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue's new appliances based at Billingborough, Bourne and Stamford are at the forefront of public and firefighter safety.
"They will enhance the skills and capability of a dedicated group of local firefighters which will directly and positively affect the emergency response given to the communities in and around Billingborough, Bourne and Stamford."
Each station has one new engine and Stamford also has a refurbished Volvo engine.
The engines remain in operation for 12 years. The pumps can deliver 2,000 litres a minute of water and are fitted with tanks that have a 1,800 litre capacity along with a separate 120 litre foam tank.
Improved safety features include better emergency scene lighting, high visibility livery and the cab layout has been designed for better storage of equipment.
Firefighters will also experience lower interior noise to aid communications.
The service has agreed a £60m contract with Cambridge-based firm AssetCo over 20 years which covers the vehicles and their maintenance.
