Pub accident leaves man in hospital

A MAN is in hospital after falling 20ft from a stairway in a pub.
Police were called to The Periwig in All Saint's Place, Stamford, at 12.30am on Saturday after receiving reports that a 34-year-old man from Uffington had fallen 20ft from the second floor to the ground floor. .

The man was taken to Peterborough District Hospital with a broken jaw, fractured eye socket and burst ear drum.

The pub was closed as a precaution and reopened on Saturday.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances but the incident has been referred to South Kesteven District Council for investigation.
