A MAN and a woman appeared in court today to deny causing the deaths of a young couple on the A1 in Lincolnshire.
Mark Crompton, 20, and Jodie Brown, 19, died last May after their car broke down on a soutbound stretch of the road at Great Ponton.
Lincoln Crown Court heard the pair, of High Street, Swinstead, were killed after their vehicle was in collision with a Jaguar XJ8.
Mary Butres, 46, and John Nichols, 57, who were in the Jaguar, today each denied two charges of causing death by dangerous driving.
Butres, of St Mary's Street, Stamford, and Nichols, of Manor Road, Carlby, were granted bail to face trial at a later date.
Mr Crompton was a binman for South Kesteven District Council. Miss Brown was an office administrator and also worked at The Coachman pub in Corby Glen.
