AN event supporting local businesses was a huge success.

Passion for Fashion was held at Stamford Arts Centre on Wednesday night with businesses from across the town holding stalls.

There was also a fashion show, live music by The Blue Soul Express and a performance by the Welland School of Dance.

A raffle and auction was held in aid of Help for Heroes and Action Medical Research raised about £2,000, which will be shared between the two charities.

Rachel Meadows, who organised the event with Abigail Yardley, said: “It was an absolutely fantastic event and we had about 200 shoppers there.

“It was great to see so many people there supporting local businesses and to have such great support. It was very community spirited and as well as supporting traders, we were delighted to raise so much money for two worthwhile charities.” Rachel and Abigail thanked everyone who sponsored or supported the event.
