Residents at a care home in Bourne have launched a food collection to be able to make a Christmas donation to Bourne Foodbank.

The residents, families and staff at Abbey Court care home in Falcon Way, are doing their bit to support vulnerable people in the town.

Abbey Court social and leisure organiser Elaine Thompson said: “We want to support the local area and we decided that the foodbank is a very good cause to back especially around Christmas time when times can get hard.”

After launching the collection at the home last week the trolly, which is being used to hold the items, is already a quarter full.

The trolly will be presented to the Bourne Foodbank, which launched in May this year in partnership with the Trussel Trust, in time to be available for people this Christmas.
