An author who started writing when she retired to entertain her grandchildren has just published her third adventure fantasy novel.

Margaret Haggerty, 67, of Kingsway, Bourne has just completed a trilogy of books about Lottie and the Land of Dofstram.

The story of Lottie and her adventures in a magical land began as a one-off book for Margaret’s grandchildren.

But the more deeply she became involved with the characters, the more the story progressed, until it had developed into a trilogy.

Mrs Haggerty said: “I started writing my first
book because I retired
and was bored.

“My family encouraged me to get it published so I sent it off but I was really surprised when they said they wanted to print it.”

“All three books have taken me about four years to completed.”

When Margaret Haggerty’s children were small she used to make up stories to entertain them.

Now her two grandchildren, Emily, 13, and James, 15, and two step-grandchildren, Timothy, 16, and Jacob, 15, have all had the pleasure of enjoying her books.

The third book, The Battle for Dofstram, went on sale in September and is available from the publisher Memoirs, on Amazon and from the publisher.

The book is also available at Bourne library.
