Age UK volunteers get creative to encourage Bourne shoppers to donate

A two week campaign has been running at the Age UK shop in Bourne to try and increase donations.

Staff and volunteers at The Burghley Centre store have been getting creative with their window displays to advertise their campaign.

They made outfits out of the donation bags, which can be picked up from a container on the counter at the store or from the front door, to encourage people to make more donations to the door, cutting the shops costs and making it more self reliant.

Manager Linda Parker said: “We also want to encourage more volunteers to get involved. There is a stereotype about the type of person who volunteers at a charity shop but we have a big range of people helping out here and everyone is welcome.”
