A FOOTBALL club invited a charity for people with disabilities to raise funds during a match.

The Daniels Foundation, which is the charitable arm of Stamford AFC, hosted the Alive and Kicking charity at the home game against Lincoln United on Tuesday last week.

Alive and Kicking provides social and sporting activities for adults with learning disabilities based in and around Lincolnshire.

Before, during and after the match against Lincoln United, which Stamford won 5-1, the charity collected more than £70 from spectators.

Stamford chairman Chris Rivett said: “We are only too happy to support the work of local charities and were pleased that Alive and Kicking were able to attend the first home match of the new season as our guests.”
