An animal-mad schoolgirl got up close to some wild creatures when she spent the day working as a zoo keeper.
Ellie Jai, of Morcott Road, Barrowden, joined the team at Dudley Zoological Gardens to find out what their job entails.
The 10-year-old got to work with Brazilian tapirs and Humboldt penguins.
She said: “The whole day was amazing and I definitely want to do it again.
“I fed some of the animals and cleaned out the sheep, which was really good because it showed that to be a zoo keeper you have to do the dirty jobs as well as the feeding and caring.”
Zoo spokesman Peter Suddock said: “Ellie had an amazing time. It’s a unique opportunity to get close to some of the rarest animals on the planet.”
