Police are investigating an armed robbery at a pub in Whissendine that took place at 9.30pm on Wednesday.

The incident took place at The Three Horse Shoes in Main Street, Whissendine, when two men entered the premises and threatened the landlord with a weapon, believed to be a firearm.

The men made off with cash taken from the pub.

The two suspects were wearing face coverings and both of them were about 5”10 tall and of medium build.

Both of the suspects have been described as having distinctive bright blue eyes.

Detective Constable, Conroy Crowe is investigating the incident, he said: “We are in the initial stages of the investigation and in the process of carrying out enquiries locally including visiting local residents.

“We would urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area around 9.30pm on Wednesday to contact us.

“Even if you didn’t see anything but were in the area at that time we would like to speak to you.”
