An Army Cadet has had his hard work recognised in receiving his gold Duke of Edinburgh’s award.
Rhys Moxham, from North Luffenham, an Army Cadet at St Georges Detachment and student at Rutland County College, collected the award at St James’s Palace in London.
The gold award recognises the achievements of those completing the Duke of Edinburgh’s award and is a fitting culmination to mark the hard work and perseverance required.
Rhys has worked through five sections of the award programme over the last 18 months to achieve the award.
He said: “I was encouraged all the way by the cadets, the award representatives and my parents. I couldn’t have done it without all their support. It was tough at times but I’m proud of what I’ve achieved.”
