A collection of art will be auctioned to raise money for a church restoration project.

The Green School in Church Street, Market Deeping, will host the sale at 7.30pm on Friday.

Fundraisers at the neighbouring St Guthlac’s Church came up with the idea as a way of raising additional money towards the installation of a kitchen and toilet in the church.

One member of the congregation moved into a smaller home and had paintings they no longer needed. An appeal was launched and more than 40 pictures have now been donated for the auction.

Parishioners Kevin Dawson and Stewart Jones will lead the sale.

For tickets call Clare on 01778 347674 or Janis on 01778 341946.
