A CELEBRATION of art at a school has continued with GCSE pupils showing off their work as part a wider celebration of receiving a national qualification for art.

The exhibition of work by GCSE pupils at Bourne Academy is part of display of artistic and creative talent by pupils over recent weeks to mark Arts Council England awarding Artsmark to the school.

Bourne Academy is one of the 1,750 schools in England who received an Artsmark award this year. Arksmark is supported by the Department for Education and Department for Culture Media and Sport and sets the standard for an outstanding arts provision.

Head of expressive and creative arts Liz Dyer said: “This award recognises Bourne Academy’s commitment to providing exciting arts experiences and our belief in the power of creativity.”

As part of the school’s extra curricular activities, pupils have also been on art trips to the New Designers exhibition in London and to the Tate Modern Gallery.

The exhibition follows a display of A-level and BTEC art work.
