This stunning Steam at Oakham painting by Ken Forrest, above, is among 66 works of art being shown by four local artists.
Held at Victoria Hall, in High Street, Oakham, the summer art exhibition is in its eighth consecutive year.
It is organised by Ken Forrest and Stuart Ball and will include four varying styles of work.
Mr Ball said: “The images show what we consider to be a true representation of the high standard that the local artist community is now producing. They are all for sale at affordable prices.”
Exhibits include Mr Forrest’s work of other local scenes of Rutland and further afield, painted in a sparkling traditional watercolour style which captures the natural light.
And Mr Ball’s images of witty, whimsical, naïve, colourful watercolour landscapes painted in a distorted childlike perspect-ive and impressionistic style, intended to provoke comment and debate.
There will be two guest artists attending.
The exhibition runs until September 1 and is open 10am to 4pm. Admission is free.
