Awards presented and new presidents take the reins at hog roast presentation night

AWARDS were presented and new presidents inaugurated when two clubs came together for a hog roast.

The Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club of Bourne met for a joint handover of the club’s presidencies and to give out awards at Home Farm in Dyke.

Rotarian of the year Richard Wells received the Club Rose Bowl and John Sismey received a Paul Harris Fellowship award for his service to the Rotary for more than 35 years and for the support of his wife Margaret in her role as district chairman of Inner Wheel.

John Lyon received the Paul Harris Fellowship Jewels for his dedication to the Rotary and a similar award was also presented to the widow of the late Geoff Halliday-Pegg, in recognition of his great contribution.

Outgoing president of the Rotary Club of Bourne, Gerry Colyer spoke about his year in office and the success of new initiatives before handing over the presidency to Norman Brown.

The Inner Wheel president, Diane Ross, presented a cheque for £1140, to Janet Corcoran of the Lincolnshire Autistic Society, before handing over her position to Ann Colyer.
