A boy of eight won a stash of toys after winning the regional prize in the NFU’s annual Let’s Talk Farming competition.
Ben Moore was given the Britains Farm Toys by the NFU’s incoming Stamford branch chairman Andrew Brown, in a special assembly at Barnack Primary School.
Ben, whose burning ambition is to be a farmer, won the regional prize in the eight to 12 year olds after coming up with the best answer to why British farming is important.
Ben’s winning sentence read: “British farming is important because the farmers produce wonderful food for the nation to eat in a way that is kind to the animals.
“The farmers also look after the countryside and help to made sure that birds like skylarks live there happily.
“They also have clever machines and helpful dogs.”
